Hawaii was never on our "must-visit" list until we were well into the COVID pandemic. For some reason, it suddenly became necessary to visit the 50th state. We chose Maui since it was a family trip, and we stayed in three types of places: a rustic tiny cabin that included roosters :), a fancy all-inclusive resort, and an Airbnb condo. We loved the condo the most. It has an amazing view, tons of space, and many amenities that made Maui feel like home for a few days. Our Jeep rental allowed us to explore the rough and washed-out back Road to Hana, and we enjoyed awe-inspiring dives and whale-watching tours. We would love to visit Maui again, but our next trip will likely be even more adventure-oriented in Kaui.
